The Swede took the first set 11–8 after a strong finish.
In the second set, Möregårdh led 10–7, but he couldn't convert his set points. Instead, Wen turned it around to win 12–10 - and began his comeback in the match.
Wen took the third set 11–7 and started the fourth with a 3–0 lead. In the end, Wen had four match points. Möregårdh saved three, but not the fourth, and as a result the Swede was forced into a playoff already in the second round of the WTT Champions.
It was only recently that Truls Möregårdh became world number two - the highest ranking of his career.
