The uterus scandal at Akademiska hospital in Uppsala is growing. 14 new cases of women who have had their uterus incorrectly removed have been discovered, reports P4 Uppland.
The total number of affected women is now up to 58.
The new cases were discovered in connection with an in-depth review by Akademiska hospital after the autumn's revelation that 33 women had their uterus unnecessarily removed at the hospital in 2023 and 2024.
The revelation received significant attention and has, among other things, led to the government appointing a national mapping of the assessment of precursors to uterine cancer.
