More than 600 items have been stolen from Bristol Museum's collections of artifacts from the British Empire. Surveillance cameras show four men breaking into a building belonging to the museum in the early hours of September 25, Avon and Somerset Police said.

The objects are said to be of “significant cultural value” and police are now asking for the public’s help in identifying the four men in the CCTV footage. Many of the objects had been donated and come from a collection that offers insight into “a multifaceted part of British history” according to the police description.

Police are also asking for help in discovering stolen items for sale.
