More than 112,000 residents have fled their homes in recent weeks as intense fighting has erupted between the Iran-backed Houthi movement and Saudi-led forces.
Around 3,000 have been forced to flee to Djibouti across the Red Sea, according to the UN. The exodus is being exacerbated by the Houthi offensive on the Red Sea coast, according to the UN refugee agency UNHCR.
Saudi airstrikes and direct military clashes with Yemeni government forces are additional causes.
The Houthi movement said on Friday evening that Saudi Arabia had carried out 26 airstrikes in one day, and that the number of Saudi attacks amounted to 300 in the past week.
The previous full-scale war between the Houthi movement and forces backed by Saudi Arabia from 2014 to 2022 claimed hundreds of thousands of lives.
