The drone struck the town of Nyala, where the paramilitary RSF forces are based, on Monday evening.
On Tuesday, several sources told AFP that at least 21 people had been killed, but the organization Emergency Lawyers put the toll much higher, reporting 102 dead and more than 100 injured.
One resident told AFP that his son was killed and buried with at least 70 others. Another said she saw several people killed in shop stalls near hers.
Both the RSF and its counterpart, Sudan's regular army, based in the capital Khartoum, are accused of numerous war crimes against civilians in the devastating civil war that has raged since the spring of 2023.
