The settlers stormed the village of Jalud in the northern part of the area when a Palestinian family - which had been displaced by settlers two months ago - was escorted back to their home by the military.
When Israeli military and border police tried to disperse the crowd, three police officers were slightly injured, according to a military statement.
The military said settlers blocked roads, set tires on fire and threw rocks. They also set buildings and vehicles on fire. The attack prevented the Palestinian family from returning home.
Both Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office and the US State Department issued statements condemning the attack.
