More Swedes living abroad will vote in September election

Therefore, the government has today instructed the Election Authority to broaden and deepen information on the voting rights and opportunities of Swedes living abroad ahead of the September election. Among other things, letters will be sent to everyone who has been removed from the electoral roll in the last 15 years.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Maria Malmer Stenergard (M) writes in an opinion piece in Dagens Industri that Swedish citizens abroad should be given good conditions to make their voices heard.

Efforts are also under way to increase the number of voter registration locations abroad to a record high, close to 300, and to extend opening hours.
