Five people and four companies in and outside Russia are added to the EU's sanctions list regarding the country's so-called shadow fleet.

The measures target individuals from Pakistan, Russia, the United Arab Emirates and Azerbaijan with direct or indirect links to Russian state-owned oil companies Rosneft and Lukoil. In addition, shipping companies Nova Shipmanagement and Citrine Marine in the United Arab Emirates, Hung Phat in Vietnam and Severtransbunker in Russia are also affected.

All are believed to have contributed to transporting oil or oil products from Russia, in violation of sanctions previously imposed in response to Russia's war in Ukraine. More suspect vessels are also listed.

We will now sanction more every month, promises EU Foreign Affairs Chief Kaja Kallas after the decisions made at Monday's foreign ministers' meeting in Brussels.

In parallel, twelve people and two companies are also added to the sanctions list regarding Russian hybrid attacks.
