During the second quarter of the year, 6,200 officials in the private sector were laid off. This is an increase of 1,300 people compared to the same period last year, according to statistics from the transition organization TRR.
The industries where most officials in the private sector have been laid off during the period are in the electronics industry, technology consulting and trade & sales, writes TRR in a press release.
"The layoffs at Northvolt are a reason why we have so many laid off this year, but the economy is also weak and many companies in almost all sectors are going through challenging periods", says Johan Lagerhäll, CEO of TRR Trygghetsrådet, in the press release.
