The bank's house price indicator, which shows the difference between the share of households who expect rising prices and those who expect falling prices, grew by 3 units in June to 44, up from 41 in May.

The proportion of households that believed prices would rise increased by 1 percentage point to 53 percent. The proportion that believed prices would fall decreased at the same time by 2 percentage points to 9 percent. One in four households believed prices would remain unchanged.

"In combination with rising activity, falling supply and cautiously rising prices, we are now seeing a clear thaw in the housing market," SEB's private economist Américo Fernández said in a comment.

The indicator also showed that households expect the Swedish Central Bank to raise interest rates in a year.
