A cardiologist who previously worked at the hospital is at the center of a scandal that was uncovered after an investigation a few years ago.
Previously, 78 patients required new checks, of whom 38 were assessed to need further follow-up or measures. Now, an additional 28 people who were declared healthy between 2014 and 2017 are being called in.
"We understand that this may be worrying news, and I truly regret that these families have to go through this now," said Simon Rundquist, director of operations for the children's clinic, in a press release.
Jönköping Region will soon also submit a new Lex Maria report, summarizing all cases discovered so far.
