A percussionist and two violinists are competing for this year's Soloist Prize - where the winner's prize money has been increased to 150,000 SEK.

Lorenz Karls, violin, Christoffer Breman, percussion, and Marcus Bäckerud have reached the final of the competition. On February 7th at the Gothenburg Concert Hall, it will be clear who will emerge victorious from the competition.

The Soloist Prize is the Royal Swedish Academy of Music's largest prize for young musicians and is awarded every two years. Unlike in many other competitions, the runners-up also receive a prize of 50,000 kronor each.
