The share of households that believe in rising housing prices next year has increased to 49 percent, an increase of two percentage points from last month, according to SEB's housing price indicator.

The share of households that believe in falling prices increases by 1 percentage point to 14 percent. The share that believes in unchanged prices decreases by 1 percentage point to 26 percent.

“Somewhat surprisingly, housing price expectations are now stabilizing at a high level at the same time as households' pessimism about the economic future is increasing. Historically, housing price expectations tend to follow economic signals, but this time a balance has been created,” says SEB's private economist Américo Fernández.

SEB's housing price indicator increases by 1 unit in June from 34 to plus 35. Households' expectations of the interest rate in one year decrease by 0.04 percentage points to 2.39 percent.
