Almost half of Swedish households, 45 percent, believe that housing prices will rise next year, according to Länsförsäkringar's Housing Price Barometer.

This is an increase of 2 percentage points compared to last month. The strongest expectations of rising housing prices were in Småland, while Northern Central Sweden was most pessimistic about a price increase. The proportion of households that believe in a decline in housing prices remains at 6 percent.

"When we summarize the housing year 2025, we see that the market has gone from a lull to a fresh wind in its sails. After the turn of the year, we expect an increasingly hot housing market when interest rates are stable and household finances are strengthened by tax cuts," says Marcus Svanberg, CEO of LF Fastighetsförmedling in a press release.

The survey was conducted between November 18 and December 3 in the form of a randomly recruited web panel with 1,710 participants.
