The investigation will focus on how the use of drones and protection against hostile drones can be strengthened within civil defense. Part of it involves proposing which authorities should be given the power to intervene against drones.
"It could be about more actors being given the authority, for example, to shoot down drones. But it could also be about gaining the ability to combat drones electronically or to use other types of countermeasures," Carl-Oskar Bohlin (M), Minister of Civil Defense, told TV4 Nyheterna.
In addition to defense, today only the police have the mandate to intervene.
The assignment is due to be reported in October next year.
