Reports of occupational diseases, i.e., work-related illnesses that do not result from an accident, continue to increase, reports Sveriges Radio Ekot. Last year, the number rose by almost 30 percent compared to 2024.
There may be several reasons behind the increase, according to Lars Lööw, Director General of the Swedish Work Environment Authority.
It's probably both that it's a challenge in the work environment and that it's rightly getting more attention, he tells the radio.
