An alarm about an accident involving a moped and a train was received at around 9 p.m. on Saturday evening.
They are said to have been travelling on a moped and crossed the tracks at the same time as the train arrived. There is brush at the crossing, so it is possible that they did not hear the train coming, says Göran Karlbom, officer on duty with the police.
The crossing where the accident occurred is a so-called utility crossing that is supposed to have locked gates, but for some reason the gates were not locked at the time of the accident.

The woman died immediately at the scene and the man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
