On Friday morning, the police received several calls about a moose moving around central Uppsala. Several media outlets reported on the distressed moose.
Shortly after the first calls to the police, information came that the moose had fallen or jumped from a great height at the central station and landed on a sidewalk. The moose died in connection with the fall.
According to game warden Torbjörn Röste, who UNT spoke to, it was last year's calf that had recently been rejected by its mother.
This is common at this time of year, he says.
Rosanna Sjöö was one of those who saw the moose shortly before it fell.
It was the sickest thing I've seen in my entire life, she tells UNT.
