According to John Lodge's family, he fell asleep peacefully, surrounded by close and dear ones and with Everly Brothers and Buddy Holly in the speakers, writes The Guardian.
Lodge was born in Birmingham in 1943 and joined Moody Blues in 1966 just before the breakthrough with the album "Days of future passed". He played on some of the group's most famous songs, such as "Nights in white satin", "Question" and "Isn't life strange" and he was with them all the way until the band's retirement in 2018.
In 2024, Moody Blues' last original member, keyboardist Mike Pinder, passed away, and the year before, old guitarist Denny Laine passed away. Drummer Graeme Edge and wind player Ray Thomas died in 2021 and 2018, respectively.
