The Malmö jumper's best result came in the second round and measured 8.08 metres, the longest jump of the year, which was enough for the Swedish Championship gold medal.
The season has not been what Montler had hoped. Since the start of the outdoor season, he has been hampered by a haemorrhage in the attachment of his right glute. He competed with the injury in Athens in late May and at the Diamond League meeting in Rome in early June, which aggravated it.
We chose to cancel all competitions and just focus on the Swedish Championship and the European Championship. Now it's just a matter of getting back to training and then trying to improve a little more for the European Championship.
