Monika Fagerholm's latest novel has been praised by critics. Now, "The Dead Region/Women in Revolt" is nominated for Finland's highest literary award, the Finlandia Prize.

The Finlandia Prize has been awarded by the Finnish Book Foundation since 1984. The prize money is 30,000 euros, equivalent to almost 330,000 kronor.

Fagerholm has previously received both the Nordic Council Literature Prize and the August Prize, but not the Finlandia Prize.

The Finlandia Prize is awarded in three categories: fiction, non-fiction and children's and young adult literature. The winners will be announced on 27 November.
