Tonight, "The Traitors" is back on TV4. Big celebrities like Anna Anka, Miriam Bryant, Julia Franzén and Jonna Lundell are among the participants. But the most unexpected name is perhaps Mona Sahlin, former deputy prime minister and former party leader of the Social Democrats.

She says that TV4 has been pestering her to take part for a long time.

They asked and asked... Finally I watched a few episodes and thought it looked fun, she explains.

Politicians have done well in TV4's ratings. Former Minister of Justice Thomas Bodström (S) was among the winners in the second season and former KD politician Sara Skyttedal was close to winning the third season before she fell at the finish line.

Both were traitors in the show's intricate game. So many of the players were immediately suspicious of Mona Sahlin.

It was hard. Regardless of whether I was loyal or not, I knew that everyone there assumed that a politician would obviously be a traitor.

Mrs. Rabbit

But she also benefited from another political talent.

I can say what I think. There were many there who didn't and I scolded some when it went too far, when the game became perhaps a little too mean to certain people.

This is not the first time Mona Sahlin has appeared in a game show on television. Four years ago she appeared as Mrs. Rabbit in "Masked Singer." Then it was for her grandchildren. This time she did it for herself.

If you knew how many shows like this I say no to... there has to be something special that makes it feel right. Here I felt like I could maybe have some fun.

“No TikToker”

And she's had fun.

It's so hard to talk about it without revealing too much. But I had a lot of fun, probably the most fun of all. I've resigned from everything already and have no positions to defend. I'm also not a TikToker who misses my phone all the time. I just had fun, she says, laughing.

It's only been a few weeks since TV4 confirmed that Mona Sahlin is one of the participants in "The Traitors," and she has already received a lot of reactions from ordinary people who stop her on the street.

But this is not the time to make a political comeback.

No, I promise, if you can trust what a politician says, which I get to say in “The Traitors” all the time. You have to trust me, even though I’m a politician. 45 years was enough.
