The attacking duo Viktor Gyökeres and Gustaf Nilsson have left the national football team's gathering due to minor injuries. Now, the national team captain Jon Dahl Tomasson chooses to call up Momodou Sonko, 20, from the U21 national team to the upcoming international matches.
The former Häcken player Sonko, who has been playing for Belgian Gent since January 2024, thus leaves the U21 gathering in Croatia and the winger joins the A national team on Wednesday.
Sweden meets Hungary in Budapest on Friday and Algeria at the Strawberry arena on Tuesday.
Värnamo's Kenan Bilalovic replaces Sonko in the U21 national team, which meets Croatia and Qatar. Both international matches are played in Croatia.
