The students had worked together to earn nearly 28,000 kronor. But instead of saving it, she transferred almost 25,000 kronor to herself and used it for private expenses.
The woman, mother of one of the students in the class, initially claimed that she had been assaulted and robbed of the money at the children's disco.
"What's left is 3,003 kronor in coins, the rest is gone," she wrote in the parent group on Facebook. But during police questioning, she confessed that it was a lie.
"I'll make your job a bit easier, I took the money, it's no one else who did it. I'm ashamed and I'll pay back the money. Now you've got a confession," she said, according to Hallands Nyheter.
Now the mother, who explained the theft by saying she was "struggling" and couldn't pay her debts, is sentenced to probation and day fines for unauthorized disposal.
