Minister of Education Simona Mohamsson (L) says that Denmark is "setting an incredibly good example" when the country announces that it wants to introduce an age limit of 15 for social media.

The Liberals want Sweden to follow the same path as Denmark and ban harmful social media for children under 15, Mohamsson tells TT.

In October, the Swedish government announced that a special investigator had been appointed to investigate the possibility of introducing an age limit for social media.

I am optimistic that we will get the other Tidö parties on board, and I look forward to this being a point in future Tidö agreements, says Mohamsson.

According to Mohamsson, special investigator Lisa Englund Krafft will have to take a closer look at exactly how a ban can be enforced. But she emphasizes:

The basis here is that we see a social development that is going in the wrong direction, and then politics should not just look at it, then we must act.
