Egypt is clear for the World Championship in football next year.

Big hero: Liverpool star Mohamed Salah who scored two of the goals when Djibouti was defeated 3–0 in Casablanca.

Ibrahim Adel also became a goalscorer.

Thus, Egypt became the third African nation to secure a World Championship spot after Morocco and Tunisia.

Egypt has played the World Championship three times, 1934, 1990 and 2018, but has never advanced beyond the group stage.

Small Cape Verde also had the chance to secure a World Championship spot, but 3–3 away against Libya was not enough as Cameroon won over Mauritius at the same time.

Cape Verde, however, has everything in its own hands and leads its group, two points ahead of Cameroon. With a win in the last match against the bottom team Eswatini on Monday, the World Championship spot is secured.
