After eight straight wins, Modo's streak was broken. The team fell for the first time on home ice this season, 1–4 against Västerås. We're not quite at the right level of competition compared to them, says assistant team captain Sebastian Ohlsson.

Västerås opened the scoring with a bang and scored two goals in just under three minutes at the start of the All-Swedish hockey meeting.

Niclas Lundgren scored after just 54 seconds and Konstantin Komarek increased the lead to 2–0 after 2.55.

They get two quick ones, it sets the tone for the game and we don't really manage to get up. We're facing a team that really sacrifices itself, they really wanted to win tonight, Ohlsson tells TV4 Play.

Ohlsson reduced it to 1–2 after 16:22 of the third period, but then Västerås was able to put two pucks in an empty goal cage after SHL-relegated Modo picked out goalie Adam Werner.

Västerås took their fourth straight victory after a tough start to the season.

Björklöven defeated Troja-Ljungby 4–1 and moved to the top of the table. The Umeå team is five points ahead of Modo after 14 games played for the top duo.

AIK broke a three-game losing streak and crushed Vimmerby at Hovet 8–1. Ludwig Blomstrand scored two goals and played until one, and 18-year-old junior goalkeeper Leon Contreras took his first victory in his second straight start at senior level. He saved 27 of 28 shots. AIK is fourth in the table.
