The Ice Hockey Association's disciplinary committee believes it is clear that Måns Carlsson has committed a cross-checking offense where the stick hits the opponent in the face.
"The offense is punishable and should lead to a suspension," writes the disciplinary committee and suspends Carlsson for two SHL matches. He will also have to pay a fine of 5,000 kronor.
It's crystal clear, and the stick is where it shouldn't be. We're reviewing the match on that, said a remorseful Måns Carlsson after the match, according to Expressen.
It's clear that I regret what I did. I put the guys in a piss-poor situation.
Directly after Modo became fully manned, HV71 also scored 3–0 and eventually won the away match 4–0.
The Småland team leads the match series 3–2 and can secure continued play in the country's highest hockey series with a win at home in Jönköping on Tuesday.
