Modo with Sensational Victory – after Wild Match Start

Modo is back on solid ground in the SHL table. The Ö-vik team pulled off a surprise win against second-placed Färjestad with 3–2 after a completely crazy match start. It was crazy, says Lukas Jasek.

A rarely seen match start was offered in the SHL meeting between Modo and Färjestad in Örnsköldsvik.

The home team got a dream start, with two goals after just two minutes. Modo's 2-0 lead, however, did not last very long. On the contrary.

Just two minutes later, it was already tied at 2-2. Four goals in four minutes, thus.

I've probably never experienced such a start, it was crazy, notes Modo's Lukas Jasek in TV4's broadcast.

It then took a good while before more goals were scored. Paul LaDue scored the important 3-2 goal for Modo halfway through the third period, and that was also the final result.

The win means that Modo once again climbs above the qualifying line and pushes Linköping, who lost to Rögle with 1-2 earlier on Saturday, down to a qualifying spot. HV71 remains in last place after a 1-3 loss to Leksand.

It's clear that it's better to be safe than sorry, but for our part, it's about taking one game at a time, says Modo coach Mattias Karlin.
