A proper anxiety meeting was held on Thursday evening when Modo and HV71, the two bottom teams in the SHL table, faced off in Örnsköldsvik.
HV71 came north with a serious goalkeeper crisis, and with Hugo Alnefelt and Frederik Dichow absent due to illness, 20-year-old J20 goalkeeper Olof Glifford got the chance between the posts for the first time in the SHL.
It will likely be a match the 19-year-old will not soon forget. Glifford made 21 saves and saw his HV71 win 4–2.
With the loss, Modo was relegated to the bottom spot, on the same points as HV71 but with a worse goal difference.
