Narendra Modi is in Sweden to talk about trade, security and the green transition, among other things. In connection with his visit to Gothenburg, the Prime Minister also received the Royal Order of the North Star from Crown Princess Victoria.
In addition, facsimiles of two previously unknown verses by Rabindranath Tagore (1861–1941) were presented.
Tagore received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913, but due to World War I was unable to accept the award until a visit to Stockholm in 1921.
Now, two handwritten verses from that visit have been found in explorer Sven Hedin's archives at the National Archives.
