”A beautiful football saga” and ”the miracle from Sweden". After the sensational SM gold, Mjällby is also being praised outside the country's borders.

Via 2–0 at Gamla Ullevi against IFK Göteborg, Mjällby could secure the SM gold in football. An achievement that is now being noticed in a number of international newspapers and news agencies.

Belgian Le Soir calls the club: "The miracle from Sweden". Like many others, it is emphasized in the Belgian newspaper that it is a club from a small fishing village that has become champion for the first time in history.

German Bild calls it a "football saga that could not be more beautiful" and Dutch De Telegraaf writes about "the sensation in Sweden".

News agency Reuters, in an article that British The Guardian has published, writes that the basis for the "incredible triumph" was "smart scouting and a scientific approach" at the same time as it is emphasized that Mjällby's budget is "significantly smaller than" the one that Hammarby and Malmö FF have at their disposal.

Other international news agencies such as AFP and AP also notice the Blekinge team's unexpected SM gold despite three rounds of Allsvenskan remaining.

In most places, it is emphasized that the club comes from little Hällevik, which has only around 1,500 inhabitants.

Public service giant BBC wrote about Mjällby's progress already last summer and republished on Monday evening an updated version of the article on its website.

Marca writes that in Spain, for years, they have boasted that a city like Villarreal, with just over 50,000 inhabitants, can compete with the largest in Europe. Now, Mjällby has also "broken the rules" and taken their first title in Allsvenskan.

On Tuesday evening, Villarreal will host Manchester City in the Champions League – a tournament that little Mjällby will have to qualify for next summer, writes Marca.
