The goalkeeper, who is considered by many to be the best in the league in his position this season, is ready for Como in the Italian Serie A. The 23-year-old will, however, be loaned back and play out the season with Mjällby before he leaves.
"It feels completely fantastic that it's finally done. It has been incredibly much the past few months, but now that it's settled feels completely wonderful", says Törnqvist to the club's website and continues:
"I want to thank everyone in Mjällby who made this as smooth as possible and helped me fulfill my biggest childhood dream. But first and foremost, we have nine finals left and we will give it our all, just like we always do).
Mjällby leads the league with 53 points, eleven more than second-place Hammarby who, however, have one game less played.
