With a fifth place last year – like the 2020 season – the small club from Listerlandet in Blekinge has shown that it is possible to place high in the Allsvenskan table with small resources.

This season has at least started well. On Good Friday, for example, league leaders Hammarby left Strandvallen in Hällevik with a 1–3 loss.

Has eleven points

The same winning figures were achieved by Mjällby at Örjans Vall on Wednesday evening against second-to-last Halmstad.

We can only aim to get better every year. How the table turns out, it's hard to say. We should aim to take more points than last year, at least, says Herman Johansson, who nodded in 3–1, to Max.

With eleven points in five rounds, Mjällby is second in the table – just one point behind league leaders Hammarby. Table third AIK – also unbeaten – has ten points and plays its fifth Allsvenskan match of the season away against bottom-placed Värnamo (zero points) on Thursday.

Even newcomer Degerfors has surprised this season and has nine points after three wins and two losses. Away against Häcken, the Värmlanders won 4–3. Elias Pihlström scored two goals within nine minutes when Degerfors went up to a 4–1 lead with about a quarter of an hour left to play.

Goal fest also in Borås

Then Häcken woke up, but never got closer than two reductions through Simon Gustafson and Pontus Dahbo.

At Borås Arena, home team Elfsborg won a real goal fest against Sirius (4–3) and went up to ten points. Simon Hedlund secured three points when he scored 4–3 in the 86th minute. Sirius has four points and lies just above the relegation line.
