Mjällby Beat Borac 2-0 to Extend Unbeaten Start in Conference League

Seven points from three games. That’s Mjällby’s strong start to the Conference League league phase, following a 2–0 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Borac.

Jacob Bergström took advantage of a mistake by the visitors in the 54th minute to make it 1–0 at Olympia in Helsingborg. Mjällby are playing there because Strandvallen in Hällevik is not suitable for European competition.

In the 89th minute, Mads Enggård made it 2–0 after a fine pass from Ian Hoffman.

Mjällby have thus won two games and drawn one in the Conference League qualifiers - a 2–0 win over Andorra’s Inter Escaldes and a 1–1 draw away to Georgia’s Iberia Tbilisi.

The Blekinge side sensationally won the Swedish championship last year, but have had a much harder time this season and were involved in the relegation battle in the Allsvenskan for a long time. But four points from their last two games seem to have secured their place in the league.
