SM gold to little Mjällby. How did it happen? Here are listed five points that lie behind this year's football bang.

+ "The Team" Mjällby

You won't find any Mjällby player at the top of the Allsvenskan scoring league. Not even right behind the absolute top. The goal scoring has instead been spread out on several feet and heads. The trio Elliot Stroud, Herman Johansson and Abdoulie Manneh are the best with seven full hits each.

+ Sports Manager Hasse Larsson

Sports Manager Hasse Larsson has been involved in the club in various ways for almost 50 years, of which 16 as a player. He has had an outstanding ability to hit the right mark in his acquisitions and also sold players with fine price tags.

+ Home-woven

Team captain Jesper Gustavsson, 30, has made over 300 A-team matches and the midfielder was also involved during the tougher years when Mjällby was involved in the bottom struggle in division 1 south.

Striker Jacob Bergström – 1–0 goal scorer in the gold match against IFK Göteborg – was found in division 3 before the 2018 season. Even though he has tested his luck briefly in Djurgården and Norwegian Mjøndalen, the Karlskrona boy has always returned to Listerlandet.

+ Best at what is free

Considering the budget and conditions, Mjällby should hardly be able to challenge even a fifth place, which was the club's best result previously in Allsvenskan.

According to Chairman Magnus Emeus, it's about being "best at what is free".

It's a lovely association where everyone strives for the same goal. Then you can come damn far. Many work voluntarily to help out in the kiosk and fix the plan. They are a big part of this too, says Jesper Gustavsson.

+ Overwhelming champion?

Mjällby has only suffered one loss (against AIK in May) in the 27 matches played so far. With 20 wins and 6 draws, the championship team has 66 points. If the team takes two more points, Mjällby will also beat the point record (67 points – AIK 2018 and Malmö FF 2010) since Allsvenskan was expanded to 16 teams in 2008. The team can also win the series with a record large margin (11 points, MFF 2024). Right now, Mjällby leads the series with eleven points down to second-place Hammarby.
