Leading indexes on Wall Street went in different directions on Tuesday after a mixed report on the state of the US labor market.

The broad S&P 500 index fell 0.2 percent and the Dow Jones industrial average fell 0.6 percent, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq composite index rose 0.2 percent.

The mixed job statistics showed that more new jobs than expected were created in November, but at the same time that unemployment rose to 4.6 percent, the highest figure since 2021.

Cloud services company Oracle, which fell sharply on Monday, recovered and rose 3.7 percent.

Pfizer fell after the pharmaceutical giant presented a profit forecast for next year that fell short of analysts' expectations. The sales forecast – equivalent to SEK 552–580 billion – was more in line with predictions. The share fell 3.4 percent.
