Both Shanghai and Shenzhen's respective composite indices are unchanged. However, the Hang Seng in Hong Kong is up 0.5 percent.
In Japan, stock markets appear to be reacting positively to the country's central bank's decision to leave interest rates unchanged. The Nikkei 225 index had risen 0.3 percent by lunchtime, while the broader Topix index is up 0.6 percent.
South Korea's Kospi is also up 0.9 percent since the country's trade agreement with the United States, which was signed in July this year, officially came into effect.
