Mixed in Asia - Tokyo declines, other markets move more cautiously

The Tokyo stock market opens the week in a sour mood. The Nikkei 225 is down 1.9 percent at lunchtime while the broader Topix is down 2.1 percent.

In China, stock market movements are somewhat more modest. Shenzhen is down 0.7 percent while Shanghai is up 0.1 percent. The Hang Seng in Hong Kong is also up 0.1 percent.

The Kospi in Seoul is down 0.5 percent.
