Häcken decided the match with two real cannon goals at Gamla Ullevi. Gustav Lindgren made it 1–0 in the 17th minute - he finished off an attack that started with a goal kick from goalkeeper Andreas Linde.

In the 84th minute, Mikkel Rygaard volleyed in to make it 2–0 after a counterattack.

IFK Göteborg received a penalty in the first half, but Tobias Heintz shot it wide.

"You can only complain that they didn't award a damn penalty. It's too bad," Heintz told TV4.

In the 89th minute, Rockson Yeboah was shown a red card for kneeing Sanders Ngabo on the shoulder.

Västerås' Mikkel Ladefoged scored twice at home against Elfsborg, turning a 0–1 deficit into a 2–1 lead, but Ari Sigurpálsson equalized to make it 2–2 in stoppage time.
