A poorly managed housing association in the scandal-ridden housing complex Chinese Wall in Malmö will be forcibly administered, reports Sydsvenskan.

Here, bills for water, waste management, and district heating have piled up and the residents have periodically lived in cold apartments without access to hot water.

The decision on compulsory administration, made by the rent tribunal, means that the real estate company Trianon takes over as administrator with immediate effect. A total of 67 apartments are affected.

It's such a relief, it's such mixed emotions – joy, and a relaxed body after so many years of struggle that are now over, says Katarzyna Komorniczak, one of the residents of the house, to the newspaper.

In the Chinese Wall, there was previously another poorly managed housing association. It was bought up by the municipal housing company MKB in 2021.
