After the World Cup fiasco, he left the role.
"I have accepted his resignation," said David Trunda, president of the Czech Football Association, in a statement on the association's website.
Koubek took over the national team in December and led the Czech Republic to its first World Cup in 20 years after playoff victories against Ireland and Denmark.
Once in the playoffs in North America, there was only one point and the team was eliminated after the group stage.
Domestic media have reported fights in the squad and players refusing to play.
“A media campaign based on half-truths and fabrications also contributed to my decision,” says 74-year-old Miroslav Koubek.
