Messi scored the only goal of the match on a hard and slippery pitch in Kansas City at 16 degrees below zero, perhaps not the temperatures Messi is used to playing in. The wind occasionally increased the cold factor to 24 degrees below zero.
In the cup, 27 club teams from the USA, Canada, Central America, and the Caribbean compete for the title.
