For the eleventh year in a row, the mysterious figure with the bushy eyebrows has frightened and charmed SVT's youngest viewers. Clues about who is hiding in the costume have been given throughout the programme, and Minou Lindholm believes some began to suspect it was her when the words "fake fur" were revealed, since Tyra, the character she plays in the TV series "TSM", likes fake fur.
Really attentive viewers may also have noticed bumps on either side of the Summer Shadow - these are Minou Lindholm's elbows.
"What's that? Has the Summer Shadow got horns?" someone might have thought, she says, laughing.
Strong arms
It is the first time a child has been the Summer Shadow, and Minou Lindholm's biggest challenge has been holding up her head inside the over two-metre-high costume, hence the protruding elbows.
Every time we broke a take, someone ran over and helped. But at least I've got strong arms!
14-year-old Minou Lindholm used to watch “Summer Vacation” herself while growing up.
I was just like, "Oh, how cool, there's Malin, the host." To be able to be there myself now is so much fun and pretty crazy. I feel so honoured.
Many children are a little afraid of the Summer Shadow, were you?
I was mostly fascinated but also a little scared, mostly of being shadow-limbed.
Shadow slime over the head
Now Minou Lindholm has conquered her fear. Because it has become a tradition to pour a bucket of sticky shadow slime over the head of the Summer Shadow in the final episode.
The shadow slime was much warmer than I thought. And gooey. It felt like a hair mask so I tried to think it was good for the hair!
The biggest challenge has been not telling anyone. She was asked the question at the end of last summer and her parents and grandparents are the only people she has told - not even her little sister has found out.
Is there anyone you thought was a little extra fun to fool?
The hosts! And our family friend's little son. I'll probably watch the last episode of "Summer Vacation" with him to see his reaction when I'm exposed.
