"The sale of Jas Gripen to Colombia is one of Sweden's largest export deals ever," writes Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) in a written comment, calling it "a big day for Swedish defense exports."
"We are pleased to welcome Colombia to the growing Gripen family," he continues.
Minister of Defense Pål Jonson also welcomes the deal.
"It is a clear testament to the competitiveness of the Swedish defense industry and high technological capabilities. With Gripen, Colombia will receive one of the world's most advanced combat aircraft. I look forward to deepening defense policy cooperation," he says in a press release.
Minister for Foreign Affairs Maria Malmer Stenergard (M) agrees:
"I look forward to continuing to strengthen and broaden the cooperation between our countries," says the minister.
