The first request to meet with the Minister for Civil Affairs before a new permit period was already sent in April last year. In May, PostNord's then Chairman Christian Jansson repeated his request, and received the response that there was no room in the calendar, reports DN.
Since then, PostNord, one of the state's largest companies, has repeated its request in October and November. The response from Slottner's staff was that they would get back to it if a meeting became relevant.
So far, it has not happened.
Being completely ignored is hard to swallow, says Christian Jansson, who recently stepped down as Chairman of PostNord, to DN.
Jansson believes that the lack of interest is a matter of political cowardice.
The government knows that the service must deteriorate when there are such low volumes of mail. But they are afraid to meet the electorate. They do not want the headline that Slottner worsened the mail service. But that is the reality when Swedish mail becomes so much fewer, he says.
