So far, about 12,285 documents totaling more than 125,000 pages have been released, according to a letter from the Justice Department to a federal judge. That is a fraction of the material still under review.
The letter states, "Significant work remains." It is signed by, among others, Attorney General Pam Bondi.
More than 400 lawyers will review the documents in the coming weeks. At least 100 FBI employees trained in handling "sensitive victim information" will assist in the work.
In December, the US Department of Justice began releasing documents from the extensive investigation, but failed to meet a deadline to have all the documents released by December 19.
