Hey, hey, ho, ho – Donald Trump must go!
In cities and smaller towns in all states of the USA, Americans protested against the Trump regime. Some held up flags, others carried placards with demands that democracy must be protected.
The organizers, an association of, among other things, civil rights organizations and trade unions, claim that nearly seven million people participated in the manifestation. The figure is difficult to verify, in the major city of New York, the police stated that around 100,000 people protested.
The demonstrations went quietly in large part, but in, among other cities, Portland and Denver and outside Chicago, arrests were made, reports Fox News.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Republican Mike Johnson, has dismissed the protests as a "hate America manifestation".
Donald Trump himself has responded by publishing an AI-generated video on his own platform, Truth Social. In the video, Trump, wearing a golden crown, is seen steering a fighter plane with the text "King Trump" on the side, dumping a load of feces over large gatherings of demonstrators.
The manifestation is being held at a time when the US government has shut down, as the parties in Congress have not been able to agree on a state budget, and President Trump has ordered national guard soldiers to a number of Democratic-controlled cities to "make them safer", despite local leaders declining the offer.
