The Norwegian World Cup organization expected a surplus of 15-20 million kronor, but the championship ended with a deficit of many millions. At first it was said it would stay at 37 million kronor, but the latest calculation shows the loss will be just under 44 million kronor.
The World Cup company escaped bankruptcy when the suppliers accepted a composition solution.
The next World Ski Championships will be held in Falun next year.
