In Tuesday, HD reported that Engelholm, which has been a powerhouse with several national championships in volleyball during the 2000s, would have to withdraw from the women's top league due to lack of funds to maintain the economy and organization.

Three days later, new bids come in. A group of financiers has joined forces and promises to invest at least 600,000 kronor per year over a five-year period, according to the newspaper.

With this solution, we will definitely play in the top league. We are extremely grateful, as it was not in our wildest dreams that this would happen, says sports manager Fredrik Tågsjö to HD.

The funds will also go to the youth activities, according to the agreement between Engelholm – which has, among other things, nurtured Sweden's best volleyball player Isabelle Haak – and the financiers.

Those who are investing the money think that we play a significant role and want to give us the conditions to grow as a club in the long run. Even though we already do a lot, we within the association are eager to show that we can do even more, says Tågsjö.
